Our first trip to Florence years ago wasn’t that good, so we decided to visit again and see if we could have a better experience. Since we were one hour by train from Florence, we decided to spend two nights so we wouldn’t have to rush the churches and museums.
Quick Visits to Madeira, Casablanca, Barcelona, and Genoa
The first two ports of call after crossing most of the Atlantic Ocean were Madeira in the Atlantic and then Morocco in northwestern Africa. Two very different places we were quite curious about. After that, we had a short visit to Barcelona and a day in Genoa.

Cucina Bolognese: Amazing Eats in and Around Bologna
After Trieste and our day in Venice, we made our way to Bologna for the food. Many people we have met on our travels have mentioned how lovely Bologna Italy is and how much there is to do in the area. Hearing about a place from multiple people is a good enough reason for us to venture there.
Relaxing in a Lovely Farm House in Sunny Sorrento
The next stop on our tour of Southern Italy was Sorrento. A lovely, if touristy, seaside town south of Naples. We took a very comfortable train from Rome to Naples.
