ADVENTURES, CHALLENGES, AND INSIGHTS OF A COUPLE IN EARLY RETIREMENT
We have been on the road for four years now and each year we slow down a little more. Part of slowing down for us included finding a place where we could rest and recharge before our next adventure.
The last time we visited Playa Del Carmen in 2020 I was rehabbing my broken leg. My injury prevented us from really exploring the town. This time our visit is 8 weeks after my knee replacement. But I can unequivocally say, I’m much more capable of exploring on foot than I was before.
My life journey has included quite a few skiing injuries, a back fusion, a life-changing broken leg, and extensive arthritis. Things were ok in my right knee for a while but arthritis developed very rapidly, last fall I could no longer climb stairs. Not ok. It was definitely time to get it fixed.

As some of you know, we spend Christmas every year at our timeshare in Tahoe. It seems every year we have some kind of “adventure” during our Christmas holiday, and this year was no exception.
