After South Africa and Kruger, it was time for the self-drive part of this adventure. We flew from Kruger to Johannesburg and then on to Windhoek, the capital of Namibia.
Seeing Giraffe, Elephants, Rhino, and More in Sabi Sands
Our first safari stop was in Kruger, South Africa, one of the places we missed seeing in 2019 when our trip was cut short. We had heard the Sabi Sands private reserve, inside Kruger National Park, was a great place for game drives and animal viewing, so that is where we went.
Beyond the Cape of Good Hope and the Garden Coast
We used our extended time in Cape Town to also check out the Cape of Good Hope and southeast along the Garden Coast to the southernmost point in Africa.
Going On The Town In Cape Town
Our next stop was Cape Town for a bit of an extended stay, nearly two weeks. Of course, we could have seen everything in less time, but we are into slower travel these days. In addition to Cape Town itself, there are wine regions nearby to explore, and the Cape of Good Hope.
Dublin, the Apartheid Museum, and a Birthday
After a few days in Dublin, we were on our way to Johannesburg, South Africa, via Paris. We had planned three nights in Joburg before traveling on for a longer stay in Cape Town.
