Our plan for the start of our summer travel season began with a visit to family friends in Cincinnati. This will be followed by more than four months of extended travel until we return home in October. But this particular trip began with more than a few rookie mistakes.
New Furniture and Entertaining at Home in Playa del Carmen
Now that all of our stuff is in Playa, we will come home with luggage filled with wine and other items purchased in the US. Our return this time involved getting new furniture, having fun with friends, and of course checking out Playa’s many culinary delights.
A New Start to Our 2025 Ski Season
While we typically start our ski season in California/Nevada at Heavenly in Lake Tahoe, this year we kicked ski season off with a visit to one of our sons in Denver. We spent the next four weeks in Colorado.
Rapid Move for Mom to a New Care Facility
Since we left the Bay Area, we try to return periodically for a week or so to check in on family and see friends. We visited just before this past Christmas, intending to do the same, but we wound up doing a lot more on this trip.
Exciting Challenges With Our Not So Triumphant Return to Playa
Who said retirement was easy? Homeownership is no walk in the park either. While we were in France, we had decided we weren’t going to rent our condo any more. That decision lead to planning improvements and new purchases for our condo in Mexico.
