ADVENTURES, CHALLENGES, AND INSIGHTS OF A COUPLE IN EARLY RETIREMENT
South of Bordeaux, there are two areas famous for their wines that we were unfamiliar with until we visited, Graves and Sauterne. Most wines produced in this region are made from white grapes, usually Chardonnay and Semillon.
Originally, we were going to combine the wine tasting in Saint-Emilion with the following information about the town in one article. However, it just seemed like too much information for one article. So this article is a bit short but there is lots of food p*rn because we had three wonderful meals in town.
Bordeaux is divided into many different areas that most wine aficionados will have heard of, but we didn’t really understand the differences between them. Our goal in visiting Bordeaux was to learn about this wine region.
Our goal for the next leg of our journey was to see the landscapes and attractions in the Dordogne River region of France, specifically Rocamadour. I had been there 30-plus years ago and I vividly remember the scenery and the views and I wanted to show Mike.
When I think of epically bad train rides, number one on the list is the train in Egypt. But I’d have to say that this day runs a close second, at least the last two hours of it.
