One of the highlights of our trip to Italy was the Food and Wine tour of Sicily that we booked for the beginning of our two weeks in Sicily. We were excited to see the island and learn about its culture food and wine.
The next stop on our tour of Southern Italy was Sorrento. A lovely, if touristy, seaside town south of Naples. We took a very comfortable train from Rome to Naples.
Our roving retirement Roman Holiday continued for a second week, with yet more galleries, food porn, and a steamy Night At The Opera. I’m sure you want to hear and see what we ate in Rome, yum.
Many people, us included, have been curious about how we would handle being in the middle of the Atlantic for so long. Overall, we had a pretty good time participating in onboard activities, working out, eating good food, and generally relaxing.
We spent the last five weeks of our roving retirement practicing slow travel near Puerto Vallarta, but we did visit lots of places. In our last article, we described the attractions of Riviera Nayarit, the area north of the airport. Here we describe the activities that we thought were interesting south of the airport.
