Our latest roving retirement took us to Europe to ski, finally. We have been planning to ski in Europe for the last five years and we finally made it. Our Epic Passes from Vail include a 7-day lift ticket in the majestic Italian Dolomite mountains.
A Four Day Journey Of High Altitude and High Anxiety
Our latest journey has taken us back to Europe for a much delayed European ski adventure. But before we could enjoy the skiing, we had to take care of some business. In all, it took us four days to get from the Bay Area to our hotel in the Dolomites.
A Time for Chores, Family, Friends, and Fun
It was time for our nearly three months in Europe to come to an end. We weren’t unhappy with having to return to Barcelona to fly back to the Bay Area. Our roving retirement isn’t like a vacation, it’s like living in lots of different places while managing life stuff, much of which is in the Bay Area.
La Cité, the Unique Walled City of Carcassonne
We have been looking forward to visiting Carcassonne, on our roving retirement journey, since we were in France in 2020. Both Diana and I had visited many years ago and we only remembered the climb up the hill, the “fairy tail” walls, and the cassoulet. This time we chose to stay inside the city walls of Carcassonne, to maximize our time in situ.
