ADVENTURES, CHALLENGES, AND INSIGHTS OF A COUPLE IN EARLY RETIREMENT
On one of our menu strolls, we happened by Axiote Restaurant where we saw a sign advertising a special dinner created and prepared by Rick Bayless, Cecy Gonzalez, and Xavier Pérez Stone. We paid for the dinner on the spot and looked forward to another unforgettable night of our roving retirement.
Our roving retirement lifestyle typically involves some day trips to interesting places along with lots of venturing to local bars and restaurants. Since we are in Playa we thought we would tell you how to get around in this part of Mexico.
The beach scene in Playa del Carmen is a little unconventional because it is dominated by beach clubs, where you pay for a beach chair and you are captive for food and drink.
We were excited to be headed abroad again. Being in roving retirement, we decided to spend the month of February in sunny, warm Playa del Carmen, Mexico, on the Riviera Maya, south of Cancun.
By now, you all know that I broke my leg in November. The healing process is taking longer than we had hoped, hence the limes. So, we are going to Mexico to make Margaritas!
