In the article where we told you about my broken hip, we finished up in Playa del Carmen at two and a half weeks after surgery. The fact of the matter is, the next two months were pretty boring. But we did try to find some fun things to do, and of course we had to eat.

Petroglyphs Come To Life At Mowani Mountain Camp
The fifth Namibian stop on our African Adventure 2025, after the Sand Sea was at Mowani Mountain Camp. Highlights of this lodge among the boulders included a visit with a parade of elephants and a cool area of rock formations and petroglyphs.
A Short Visit to the Namibian Sand Sea
The places we chose to visit on our self-drive in Namibia all had some kind of significance. We visited the Kulala Desert Lodge next because of the red dunes. Our son had seen them while he was doing a study abroad program in Botswana and told us we should definitely see them.
Our First Taste of the Deserts of Namibia
After South Africa and Kruger, it was time for the self-drive part of this adventure. We flew from Kruger to Johannesburg and then on to Windhoek, the capital of Namibia.
