This year during our roving retirement we spent Christmas until the beginning of March in the mountains of Nevada, Utah, and Colorado. Our intent was to ski in the US because we couldn’t ski in Europe as planned. We thought we would provide our impressions of our time in the mountains.
Crested Butte a Genuine Old West Town
Capping off our Epic Pass tour of Colorado for this year, we took our roving retirement show to Crested Butte Colorado for the first time. We found an approachable, unpretentious, old west ski town with down-home appeal.
Telluride is Bougie and Beautiful
One of the highlights in our Colorado roving retirement sojourn this year was our visit to Telluride, a real old west mining town nestled into a magnificent box canyon.
Beaver Creek and Never Fail Vail
We have skied at Beaver Creek and Vail every few years for the last 20 years. It was a treat to get back to one of our favorite ski haunts for a stop on our roving retirement Ski Colorado tour this year.
Hanging Out in Breckenridge and Frisco Colorado in the Winter
For anyone undertaking our style of roving retirement, this environment has been extra challenging. Back in January when we realized that returning to Europe anytime soon wasn’t in the cards, we decided to “winter” in Colorado.
