ADVENTURES, CHALLENGES, AND INSIGHTS OF A COUPLE IN EARLY RETIREMENT
In our roving retirement travels around the world, we try to not only see the historical sites and taste the food, but we also try to learn about the local culture. Nothing is more quintessentially Portuguese than Fado.
We finally made it to Portugal. We have seen TV shows and heard about The Algarve so we thought we had better have a look on our current roving retirement trip.
Seville was not on our original Spanish tour list, but we realized we hadn’t really seen the city on our last trip to Spain and we had to drive right through it anyway on our way to Portugal. So, we decided to give the city another look along with a day in Cadiz.
One of the places we wanted to visit on our roving retirement tour through Spain was Jerez the home of Sherry wine. Happily, we were able to stay for a few days and see the town and learn about Jerez and its namesake Sherry first hand.
Our roving retirement trip to Spain has been really educational. For example, we visited Ronda on our previous trip to Spain eons ago. We were so taken with the town that we decided to visit again. We were surprised at how much our visit to Ronda informed our visit to see the dancing horses in Jerez.
