ADVENTURES, CHALLENGES, AND INSIGHTS OF A COUPLE IN EARLY RETIREMENT
Just before the latest lockdown in Nice, we had the opportunity to see a rehearsal in the beautiful Nice Opera House. I vividly remember our tour of the Paris Opera House, with its Chagall ceiling, and we didn’t want to pass up the opportunity to see the inside of the Opera House in Nice.
A roving retirement lifestyle is based on the idea of going to new places and seeing new things. The roman ruins of Cemenelum in Nice, France is one of those places that we can reach without a car.
One of the great pleasures of a roving retirement is frequently stumbling on some object, place, or turn of phrase that leads to some deeper understanding of the people and culture of a given region.
Once again, our roving retirement has us on the go. Next stop, the French Riviera. Specifically, Nice, a busy town of 350,000. We were here for about five days in March of this year, so it is our second visit in 2020.
For the past month, we have enjoyed living in Nice. Our time has been spent walking to and from French language school, usually stopping at the market on the way home.
