ADVENTURES, CHALLENGES, AND INSIGHTS OF A COUPLE IN EARLY RETIREMENT
I have been researching what to pack for our six month trip around the world for what seems like months already and I still don’t feel very close to figuring it all out. Yet, we are leaving next week so I thought I would tell you what I have figured out so far.
In less than 2 weeks, we are off on Our Big Trip (OBT) and our roving retirement lifestyle. We will be visiting 21 countries in all, over 170 days; roughly 8 days per country.
When/if you buy a timeshare, you should never count on trading into another property, but that never stops us from trying.
I have planned many trips over the years and I always start with a spreadsheet which has the dates and places laid out. Then I fill in the activities, hotels, and transportation. I did the same thing for OBT,
Just sit down with your favorite beverage and daydream about things that make you want to get up early in the morning. For me, that’s travel, skiing, and golf. Ask your spouse/SO to do the same and then compare notes.
