ADVENTURES, CHALLENGES, AND INSIGHTS OF A COUPLE IN EARLY RETIREMENT
Our target after Vienna was Budapest to catch our cruise on the Danube and we decided to take a train. The train ran right through Bratislava, Slovakia, so we decided to stay two nights on the way to Budapest.
Although our last post had us in Vienna, our blog updates are always behind our actual travels. As I write this, I’m in Bordeaux, France, having just finished an inexpensive, one-way, two-week car rental starting in Nice. I want to share my experience to help you plan your own epic European road trip.
We had long planned to visit Vienna, partly because I had never been there. Our last try, a few years ago, was canceled due to illness. As with last time, I bought tickets in advance for the Lippizaner stallion show and an orchestral Mozart concert.
Following our busy remodeling and upgrade efforts at our condo in Playa del Carmen, it was time to set out for another summer in Europe—our first stop: Vienna. Our trip to Vienna rapidly became a luggage3 “adventure”, the term we use when things don’t go too well.
Believe it or not, we did some things in Playa del Carmen that didn’t involve work on our condo. We found ourselves with more free time and honestly, we haven’t really relaxed in Playa since we have owned the place.
