For us, riding the metro in Paris was a pleasure and a necessity because one of our main activities in Paris was going to French classes. So, I was looking for language schools while I was looking for apartments, but the quality of the school trumped the commute.

Parisian Bastille Day Celebration and Other Music on the Town
The concert and fireworks on the Eiffel Tower for Bastille Day were an incredible start to our Paris sojourn. In addition to the big splash on Bastille Day, there were many other opportunities to see live music and Paris and we endeavored to take advantage.

A Quick Visit in the California Sun
During our quarterly visit to the Bay Area, we decided to take advantage of the California sunshine, so welcome after the cold, damp, and grey of Ireland. Pretty country, not great weather. We took a short trip to the wine country and even had time to float down the Russian River.
