Our roving retirement has led us to the beautiful Hawaiian islands for the next few months as we anxiously await our turn to get the Covid vaccine. It has been 15 years since we have visited Maui and many things on the island have changed.
Happily, our roving retirement has finally taken us someplace warm. After a brief stop in the Bay Area to swap ski stuff for beach stuff, we arrived in Maui. Our plan is to visit all of the well-known islands in Hawaii over the next few months.
Almost two years ago, Mike and I wrote an article about Daydreaming and planning your future life. Our dream was of a roving retirement certainly works better when governments don't impose lockdowns and stay-at-home orders.
For anyone undertaking our style of roving retirement, this environment has been extra challenging. Back in January when we realized that returning to Europe anytime soon wasn't in the cards, we decided to "winter" in Colorado.
