Upon arrival in Hanoi, it was immediately apparent we weren’t in Laos anymore. Most things in Vietnam were more than Laos. The pace was faster. The streets are crowded and packed with motorbikes.

Chiang Mai Thailand was the next stop on our roving retirement Southeast Asia tour. Chiang Mai is a world of contrasts, from great food to mountain top temples, to LadyBoys and Thai kickboxing.
One Day in Bangkok
The next stop on our roving retirement was Bangkok. We had about 24 hours in Bangkok, including sleeping, and we sure got a lot done.
Kyoto Festival, Shrines and Temples
In Kyoto we saw the summer festival floats and parade, visited temples and shrines, ate more wonderful Japanese food and made a day trip to Hiroshima.
